Political Science | An Essay On German Civilization

In case of any famous and world class political movement, the shape of the courses of events are greatly influenced and directed by the set of specific common beliefs and expectations of common mass from the movement. It is but quite natural that for leading the movement to a successful state, the political leaders are always consistent in rousing a huge spark of expectation among their followers so that the common mass blindly follows the leaders and commits their all to the success of the movement (Gross 132-134). This was the truth and reality of the Nazi movement in Germany under the leadership of Hitler. Adolf Hitler, by his strong leadership, was able to unify the extremely down-trodden beliefs and self-respect of the Germans that they were compelled to be subjected to as the consequences of the Treaty of Versailles in 1919. It was the Nazi movement that made Germans believes that they have sole right to revenge this ungraceful treaty.

Thus under the leadership of Hitler the Germans were indulged in a dream regarding formation of a new Germany as healthy and national community. The Third Reich dreamt the German nationals of extreme solutions of all problems. As the democratic government failed dealing with German’s problems, Hitler promised visionary values and material gains to German people. His commitment to the German people included re-arming Germany along with reducing the high unemployment state to zero and reconstructing the German economy (Eley 100-113). However, the Nazi party allegedly got involved in campaigning terror for forcing the Germans in conforming to their ideals regarding advancement of Germany along with emphasizing on a healthy and leading nation. Though Hitler took the immediate advantage of the devastating situation of Germany to come into power, even by terrorizing in many cases, still he turned into reality many of his promises just to follow some misleading steps and inference regarding essential actions. However, the Germans were required to be more conscious regarding the real situation and possible outcomes.

The Nazi researchers have commented that Hitler has won huge support from the people between 1928 and 1930. An economic crisis was there in Germany at that time and it was the main reason which has influenced the people to support Hitler (Satyanath et al. 2017). Banks crashes, business collapse, joblessness, etc. were some of the issues those have faced by the people of Germany at that time. However, Hitler was the person who has offered the voters a vision full of better future. It was noted that some poor people have voted for the opponents parties of Hitler, but the large number of people whether they are from urban areas or rural have stood beside him.

This is true that Hitler has supported the patriotism within the people of Germany and he has raised a concept of love and respect for own country which has influenced the people to show a deep and respect for the country (Thompson 51-66).The Nazi researchers have stated that the dictatorship of Hitler may work behind it. This reason cannot be disagreed. As Hitler was in support of expanding his kingdom throughout the world, therefore the intense patriotism towards the country might was a form of his dictatorship. He might planned to create a German colonialism worldwide. However, whatever the reason was it has made the German people different from the rest of the world. Even, till now they have that feeling in their hearts.

Despite being a dictator and devastating leader, Hitler had a strong and large soldierly team. Not only had the military, Hitler had a large team of Nazi supporters as well. The Nazi researchers have opined that Hitler and his other speakers had the power to convince people (Satyanath et al. 478-526). They used to segregate the audiences and prepared their speeches in accordance to it. They used to hammer on the interests of the people. For example, when they delivered speech to the soldiers, they used to announce to make a powerful military team. Therefore, it is better to say that they were highly aware of the needs of the people and they try to capture them from that aspect.
