This seems to be highly technical challenges which involve creating brands new method to potentially discover new talents from artists, musicians, labels and publishers by engaging a number of fans utilizing and monetizing the company’s assets. The main features include audio-visual recording that can be joined by others as well. This promotes collaborative sessions by people, sometimes contributing to creative mosaic music.

The two most technical challenges faced by company was to

  1. Synchronize multiple tracks of audio and video in a consumer-level application and
  2. To bind a back-end cloud based system that is capable of storing and delivering these audio-visual streams by handling rights management and payments to artists alongside.

However, collaborative teamwork and their determination has helped the company for witnessing its healthy growth.

An engaging front end as required to ensure a great user experience. These experiences were needed to be up to the professional standard in terms of audio and video synchronization.

For the management of back-end, the company is reliant on Amazon cloud. Amazon Cloud handles the management of payments rights and social media functions while serving the videos in a very sealable and secure way.

  1. Would WholeWorldBand be likely to employ SQL, NoSQL, or a mix of of both kinds of databases? Explain your answer.

John Holland describes WWB as an app that provides collaborative opportunity and revenue-sharing by content creation, fan engagement and creative marketing, simply putting it as collaborative multi-track version of you-tube.

The company earlier used my SQL and other databases that had made it gone through challenges of performance and seal ability considering the use of relational model.

SQL, relational database, are structured while NoSQL or non-relational databases are more of document-oriented and distributed. The latter is often a preference in online shopping.

Therefore, SQL requires a very well organized data to be effective which makes it useful by minimizing data redundancy. On the other hand when dealing with massive unstructured data, a more flexible NoSQL databases are more useful.

The databases of the WholeWorldBand are managed by Amazon that follow NoSQL system. This NoSQL system helps to overcome RDBMS that seems to be drawback in this increasing growth of unstructured data. NoSQL is a more cloud friendly approach for meeting the exponential processing requirements. Therefore, use of NoSQL help to work with big databases which needs flexible data model and continuous application flexible data model and continuous application availability with the support of modern transaction.

Therefore NoSQL seems to a better choice for WholeWorldBand owing to its rapid development through making most of the cloud computing and storage.

The terms of use in WholeWorldBand include uploading original and liable content solely for the WholeWorldBand. The company provides platforms for creating new digital revenue streams for various artists. This is achieved by providing the musicians a different way of monetization of unfinished tracks. There are no physical or geographical restrictions and thus users can record a ‘seed track’ which can be further contributed by other artists irrespective of anything. Authentic experience of professional studio session, convoluted pricing structure and rights, management masks the creativity.

There is a complex system of right managements and acts as a significant business finding videos and use copyrighted music through a technology called content ID and other revenue by advertisements.

The collection of fees for participating and the complex capacity of fee-sharing of the website has made a major concern of security for the company. This application is completely free to its users. Therefore, the future financial viability of the WWB is often under doubt. Revenue generation and monetization has many other ways too. The company is hoping to support from a number of shareholders.

The future prospects of company are making investments in new feature that will enable more engagement and creativity by deeper social network integration.
