The main theme of the assignment is to discuss the investment options and distribution decisions of the selected organization for the study, Vision Australia is a "not-for-profit" organization and the company has been the largest provider of services for countrymen, those who are having low vision and blindness. The organization was established in 2004 and it is headquartered in Melbourne, Australia. In the study, the initiatives of Vision Australia and their goals and objectives will be discussed along with the implementation of new steps for meeting goals by Vision Australia. There are also different types of employment in terms of people, finance capital, physical capital and also other ways for achieving goals and objectives within the limited timeframe. The metrics that are can be used for evaluating the performances and processes for evaluating the progress in the periodic basis are also discussed in the study.
1. Initiatives objective and goals
Vision Australia is a non-profit organisation that delivers various services to individuals who are facing multiple issues regarding their blindness and vision problem. The initiative that has been taken by the organisation is to promote an integrated health treatment, which is funded by the Victorian Government of the nation. However, the significant objective of these initiatives is stated as below:
To provide free eye care treatment for all the individuals across Australia.
To ensure a stronger future for the patients and help them to improve their employability skills.
To motivate and empower the youth of the community for working alongside other individuals in society.
To reduce the vision loss cases throughout the community and ensure significant treatment for all the individuals (Holloway, 2018).
In addition to that, the primary motive of promoting integrated health treatment and providing support to the blind people of the company is to help them get back into the society and also get a reputed job for earning. In addition to that, it is also been targeted to provide mere support to the individual who is suffering from a lack of monitory support for treating their visionary issues.
2. Implementation of the steps to meet the goals
The organisation always listened to their clients and try to ensure a significant service around them in order to fulfil their basic needs. However, Vision Australia also tends to advocate social changes so that a measurable and positive change can be acknowledged. Moreover, to successfully fulfil the initiative Vision Australia have taken the following steps.
I. The organisation have taken a business-type approach to delivering the actual purpose of the initiative. To extend the impact of the initiative the number of clients has been increased.
II. The excellence and understanding of the workforce have been improved. In addition, more skilled workers have been recruited.
III. The executives of Vision Australia have also strived the equity and inclusion in all the specific areas of the lifecycle of a blind individual so that the sighted peers can be granted among the community.
IV. A strategic and understanding relationship with the Victorian Government has been made so that several financial and technical support can be granted (Holloway, 2017).
Therefore, based on the above implications it can be acknowledged that all the above steps and strategies have been deployed by the organisation to ensure the success of the initiative. Furthermore, the most significant strategy is to acquire the attention of the government through this initiative and present the situation of the people in the society who have a specific issue with the blindness.
3. Implications of the organization in terms of people, financial capital, physical capital and other means to achieve the organizational goal
It can be observed that, to meet the goals of the initiative Vision Australia have deployed a significant number of workforce and have trained them specifically so that they can create a significant relationship with the client. In addition to that, financial capital has also been utilised by the company as well. Public funding and government funding have also been acquired by the organisation to collect financial support. Through online and social media platforms financial donations have been gathered. Besides that, in terms of the physical capital, the organisational administrative have also gathered specific requirements of goods and services from the Victorian Government of the nation. On the other hand, the administrative authority of Australia has delivered significant support to the organisation by supplying government funding and monitory support (Porter, 2017). The free supply of accessories of eye treatment has been acquired by the medical firms that have provided free treatment for the organisation. Furthermore, with the executives of Vision Australia have also contacted the national Insurance organisation of Australia and have created free insurance for the people who are suffering from blindness and vision-related issues. These are the major objectives that are acquired by the organisation to reach the goal within a specific timeframe. However, significant support from the healthcare service providers has been acquired so that a considerable service and support can be gained within a specific timeframe.
4. Metrics used by Vision Australia to evaluate their performance
The following metrics have been used by the organisation to evaluate the performances in regards to the initiative:
Metrics of accountability: It can be stated that to assess the outputs of the initiate and assess its probable impacts on a long-term basis the metrics of accountability have been used. Besides that, to enhance the accountability of the initiative and other related aspects an enhanced communication along with the stakeholders and other funders have been assured to that the proper supply of financial and physical resources have been assured (Onega et al. 2017).
Metrics of common standards: To differentiate the services and position of the organisation in the society will be assessed by using the common standard metric. In addition, the common standard metric has been used by the organisation to achieve the goals of the initiative. Moreover, by using the shared measurement system performance of the executive have been categorised and the right path for the initiative have been optimised. On the other hand, this metric also allows the executives to follow their own unique and standardized path to achieve the objective within a specific timeframe (Nelson, 2018).
Based on the above discussion it can be concluded that an integrated health care service for the people who have low vision and partial blindness can give them an assurance to acquire significant support to get back into the mainstream. Moreover, the rehabilitation service that has been served by the Vision Australia may also assist the individuals to get mere support and pathway to build their career apart from their disabilities. Besides that, it also can be understood that the initiative cannot be succeeded with single-handedly as external support from the Victorian Goiverenmt of Australia and medical service teams of the nations are significant. Apart from that, the staffs of the organisation also need to become aware of the aspects that are required to be considered to successfully establish the initiative. On the other hand, sources of funding and promotion channels are also required to be properly evaluated to ensure the availability of monitory supports. On the other hand, through a successful implication of the initiative, a significant response from various healthcare non-profit organisations can be gathered.
